FOUNDERS
The mother lodges of the 23 founder members of Grey Friars Lodge were:
Kinglsey Lodge No 2431, Northampton (12 founders)
Pomfet Lodge No 369, Northampton (six founders)
Lodge of Fidelity No 445, Towcester (two founders)
Eleanour Cross Lodge No 1764, Northampton (two founders)
Cytringan Lodge No 4048, Kettering (one founder)
When our first Worshipful Master, WBro GWH Nelson, installed his successor, WBro CR Whitton, at the Installation Meeting on Monday 28 January, 1929, WBro J Dickens presented him with "a handsome album containing the signed portraits of all the founders of the Lodge, as a token of their respect and esteem and in recognition of WBro Nelson's work as first Worshipful Master."
In receiving the album, WBro Nelson "(who was evidently moved) thanked the Brethren and said he could stand any amount of kicks but kindness overcame him."
